Nixon The White House Washington, D.C. 20500 Dear Mr. President, This is in reference to the 1973 Proclamation for "Citizenship Day and Constitution Week" which is proclaimed, each year, by our President. The 1972 Proclamation was issued August 5,1972. 1 am in hopes that the 1973 Proclamation maybe issued, as early, or a bit prior, if at all possible. Many Chapters, of the Daughters of the American Revolution, start the organization, for this week of celebration, early in the current year. Based on the President's Proclamation, the Governors, City, Town and Village Officials are invited to make similar Proclamations, to be issued long before September 17-23, as they are acclaimed by our news media, of radio, television and newspaper articles, well before and all during that week. To carry out the timing, of our program, it is needful that your Proclamation, for 1973, be issued as early as it may be arranged. We are most grateful for this consideration. President Nixon, you were most thoughtful and kind, last year, in sendir me a duplicate, of your Proclamation, for 1972. It was proudly displayed at many meetings and the New York State Conference, by me, and following that, at the request of our President General, Mrs. Donald Spicer, it was given tc her, to carry with her for display, at the many State Conferences which she attended, in 1972-1973. I am hoping that we may be so honored again. Thank you again, Mr. President, for consideration which may be given. Yours respectfully, national Charrman - nSDA R Mr. Sigmund J.
