Digitized from Box 3 of the White House Press Releases at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEPTEMBER 27, 1974 OFFICE OF THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY THE WHITE HOUSE REMARKS OF THE PRESIDENT AT A RECEPTION FOR THE ECONOMIC SUMMIT PARTICIPANTS THE STATE FLOOR AT 7:00 P.M. EDT One additional word. We want this relaxed. You have all worked hard. We don't want any speeches. A lot of them have been made. They have all been good. And I couldn't keep up to the high standard that has been already established all day long. (Laughter) So, rather than compete, I will simply say thank you, and express from the bottom of my heart on behalf of 211 million Americans our gratitude for your participation. We look forward to tomorrow. Why don't you relax, enjoy yourself in the White House. It is your house. Let's have a good time. Thank you very much. END (AT 7:01 P.M. EDT)
