In elaborating, Messen said the individual to be named ;TR has been
selected but would not divulce same. Neither would he confirm or deny the
AP story that the WR would be Secretary of Commerce Frederick Dont. But
he did say AP erred in ro morting that Willard Rockwell would realace
Dent at Commerce. "I have not hoard that name for that job," he said.
Nessen did concede that Long--as well as ranking Finance committee
Renublican Carl Curtis, Nonen claired--had indeed onnesed Silberman's
nomination. But he said their opposition was based solely on the belief
