NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The meeting between the U.S. and Romanian leaders ended at 8:10 p.m.
lasting approximately 65 minutes. Participating for the U.S. was Secretary
of State Kissinger and Ambassador Barnes. Participating for Romania,
in addition to the President, were Prime Minister Manea Manescu and Foreign
Minister, George Macovescu.
The two sides reviewed the European situation, following the Security
Conference in Helsinki, and bilateral relations, including economic and
trade matters. The meeting was described as very cordial and friendly.
