NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced his intention to nominate Manuel R.
Caldera, of Marina del Rey, California, to be a member of the
Board of Directors of the Inter-American Foundation for a term
expiring October 6, 1980. He will succeed Charles W. Robinson
whose term expired October 6, 1974.
Mr. Caldera is President of AMEX Systems, Inc.
The Board consists of seven members, four from private life and
three from among officers or employees of agencies of the United
States concerned with Inter-American affairs.
The President designates the Chairman and Vice Chairman.
The Inter-American Foundation was established by Public Law
91-175 of December 30, 1969.
