REPUBLICAN WITHIN RECEPTION
State Dining Room
POOL REPORT
After circulating thru a crowd of 100-women sipping extra-sugary
iced tea, both President and Mrs. Ford headed for the microphone.
She got there first and gave a little lecture on momentum beginxt
(she daid that's the power of volunteers getting out the vote.)
The President picked up on the same theme in fact on a lot of
themes he's mentioned many times before.
Quote of the day: (on the narrowing gap in public opinion pols)
"I'd rather be on the bottom going up, than be
at the top and trying to keep from going down.
I'd rather be a fast ***** finisher than an
early starter."
Transcript is supposed to be available later.
