NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President has accepted the resignation of Leonard K.
Firestone as Ambassador to Belgium effective upon a date to be
determined. He was appointed on April 25, 1974.
There is no successor to announce at this time.
The President has accepted the resignation of Robert E. Hughes
as an ssistant Director of the National Science Foundation
effective December 31, 1976. He was appointed on December 19,
1974. He is returning to Cornell University as a Professor
for the spring term.
There is no SUCCESSOR to announce at this time.
The President has accepted the resignation of Ronald T.
Knight as United States / ttorney for the Middle District of
Georgia effective December 31, 1976. He was appointed on
March 24, 1975, for a term of four years.

The President has accepted the resignation of Fred Charles
Ikle as Director of the United States rms Control and
Disarmament Agency, effective January 19, 1977. He was
