WASHINGTON.
Oyster Bay, N.Y., July 29, 1902.
My dear Mr Secretery:
I wish I could accept, but it simply is not possible.
What time Mrs. Roosevelt and I have we want to spend here
at Oyster Bay, and my trip into New England will be of a
most purely business order. It is awfully good of Mrs.
Hitchcock and you to want us. Give her my warm regards.
The pony continues to be Archie's chief delight.
Faithfully yours,
Theodore Roosevelt
