S/S
Mr. Chester Bowles spoke to the Secretary today about
a young man by the name of Abram Chayes. The Governor
said that he was a graduate of Harvard Law School and had
received all the academie honors that that institution could
confer upon him, that he was extremely bright and/ very
able young man and someone that the Department would be
very much interested in. He is at present with Governor
Bowles in some capacity, the nature of which I am not
familiar with.
The Secretary suggested that Mr. Fisher might be in-
terested in knowing of Mr. Chayes, who is apparently interested
incoming with the State Department.
The Secretary told Governor Bowles that we would look into
this.
