S., GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 16-61120-1 The Secretary received the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Justice and Labor at 4:30, March 20, and velcomed then to the United States. The Foreign Minister replied that he vas delighted to be in the United States and extended the greetings of hie President to the Secretary. The Foreign Minister said be wished the Secretary to know that he and hie Government fully supported strong inter-American cooperation and believed that in the on- coming IAM meeting the support of the Paraguayen Govern- ment would be complete in all aspects to the U.S. posi- tions. The Secretary replied that he VSE very happy to hear these vords and knew that his Government felt equally the eame toward inter-American relations. The Foreign Minister stated that the leadership the United States V&8 nov giving to the free vorld against communist aggression and the secrifices being made by the U.S. people vere fully apprecisted by hie Government and himself. He continued to state that he strongly ad- mired the Secretary end the leadership which he personally vae giving to international problene facing the free world.
