The Secretary of State:

is called to order.
The first item of business is the
election of a Chairman, as provided in
Article 23 of the Regulations. May I call
upon the Members of the Committee for nominations
for Chairman?
(If only one person is nominated)
The Secretary of State:
In view of the fact that only one
nomination has been made, it would appear
to be the desire of the Committee that

be the Chairman. I wish
to ask the members of the Committee, therefore,
whether they desire to dispense with the
secret ballot provided for in Article 14
of the Regulations and to proceed with the
election of the Chairman by a simple show
of hands.
