SCRIPT FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE
ASSEMBLY
11:30 a.m.
The participants in the meeting, and their guests,
have been requested in an Order of the Day
to be present in the Hall of the Americas not
later than 11:30 a.m.
11:40 a.m.
The Foreign Ministers will assemble in the Columbus
Room to meet the President of the French Republic
upon his arrival.
11:40 a.m.
The Secretary of State should be at the Pan American
Union not later than 11:40 a.m. SO that he, together
with the Secretary General of the Organization of
American States (Dr. Alberto Lleras) and the
Secretary General of the Meeting (Dr. William
Manger), may meet the President of the French
Republic at the entrance of the Pan American Union
Building at approximately 11:45 or 11:50, upon the
President's return from a wreath laying ceremony
at Arlington Cemetery.
The Secretary of State, the Secretary General of the
Organization of American States, and the Secretary
General of the Meeting will escort President Auriol
first to the Office of the President and then to the
Columbus Room, where the Foreign Ministers will
be presented to him by Dr. Manger.
(The Secretary of State might mention to President
Auriol in advance that the Foreign Ministers will
be presented by the Secretary General of the Meeting,
Dr. Manger.)
11:55 a.m.
The Foreign Ministers will take their places in the
Hall of the Americas.
