MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
Item 1. Bolivian Tin
I discussed our present predicament in this matter, making
clear to the President that I was not asking for any action or
decision on his part at the present, but merely to discuss the best
methods of procedure. The President believed that it was better
for me to have a talk with Mr. Symington and, if it seemed likely
that the talk would not produce agreement, we could both ask the
President to meet with us, together with Mr. Wilson, and try and
reach some decision. I should therefore telephone Mr. Symington
and make an appointment.
