Participants: Mr. Donald Dawson
Mr. Acheson
Mr. Donald Dawson telephoned the Secretary this afternoon
and wondered if something might be arranged in the way of a
foreign assignment for Charlie Van Devanter, former publicity man
for the Democratic National Committee, who also served more
recently as an assistant to Senator Kerr. Mr. Dawson said that
Van Devanter was a very able and competent man in the Public
Liaison field and would like to go abroad.
The Secretary said he would look into this and let him know.
