Tvo yeaza ago the Netherlands Goverxment had seint a Chauge\nd'Affaires to Peindug, theroby recegnising the Chinese People's Government.\nThe Chinese authorities, however, apparently regarded this emissery as sant\nto apreagements for the resumption of dipleantic relations. On their\npart thay bad indicated an intention to establish relations, principally by\nrequesting 6 building in the Hegus which had been set aside for them.\nIame and he had recently opportunity to reallocate this building to\nthe Netherlapds devermment and vas gind to have takon this step tovards outu\nting off the propossd establishment of a Chinese Mission in the Hague. Should\nthe armistica negotiations not succeed, he wanla be prepared seriously to\nconsider the withdraval from Peining of the Dutch Charge d'Affairos and folt\nthat the Netherlands could uske a very good case for so doing.
