Dear Mac:
Thank you for your letter of June 10.
This is to compare our information and see where
we stand.
As I understand the present situation,
when we start in on July 2, we expect the fol-
lowing:
1. Acheson
2. Fisher
3. Bundy
4. Jessup
5.
Graham
6.
Sprout (although I have not
heard from Dr. Graham
about him)
7. Johnson
8. Feis (provided he has not gone
to Maine)
9. Ed Barrett
Oppie tells me that Messrs. Kennan,
Earle and McCloy will come as needed. He has
also spoken to Herbert Marks, who would be de-
lighted to come, but says that it is up to me.
Shall I ask him to be Number 10? Frank Nash
will not be available. The same is true of
Milliken and Fainsod. Dean Rusk is uncertain.
$.
Should we do anything further about any of the
following: Harold Stein, Ham Armstrong,
U.S.
the
o
Gene Rostow, George Perkins? Or should we
let this wait until our July 2 meeting?
As a matter of prepazation for July 2
have you any specific suggestions? I am begin-
ning with April, 1949 and trying to get the
chief events of 1949 and 1950 in my mind.
My best, as ever,
Mr. McGeorge Bundy,
Harvard University,
Cambridge, Massadhusetts.
