Dear Dean:
I have your note of June 22nd and understand
perfectly your reason for not coming to Princeton
on July 2. There could be no better reason.
I have seen President Truman three times and
will see him twice today. He is in wonderful form
and it is a great joy to have him with us again.
You and Virginia will have a superb time with him
and Mrs. Truman at Averell's dinner.
I hope you will be able to come to some of
the Princeton sessions, but I know the difficulties
that your work and the time of the year present.
With affectionate regards to you both.
Sincerely,
5.
