STATEMENT* It is a pleasure to send greetings to the members of the Women's American Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training meeting in biennial convention. Having recently returned from a mission to Isreal, requested by the Israeli Government and arranged by the Department of State in cooperation with the Federal Security Agency, I can say that educational needs of the Jewish people in Israel and North Africa should challenge all Americans. We in the United States have made great strides in vocational education, especially since World War I. Those of us in the fields of education, therefore, have much to contribute, both directly and through organizations such as yours. In planning a fuller mission to Israel in 1951 the Office of Education solicits the counsel of your organization with its rich experience over a period of many years in helping rehabilitate Jewish peoples throughout the world. Our mutual efforts in the days ahead should mean much to our friends across the sea. May your 1950 convention be a most successful one. *Statement to be read to the llth Biennial Convention of the Woman's American Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training.
