WASHINGTON
November 3, 1945
Dear Mary:
I have been so tied up with Labor affairs that
I haven't had a chance to answer your telegram,
or your letter.
I think that outfit has turned out to be just as
low down as I thought it would be, although I had
hoped they could see the error of their ways and
do what was right just once but, apparently, they
couldn't. Don't you worry about it because I think
you will be better off anyway although, because you
wanted it, I pulled a lot of strings and tried my
best to help you get it.
I don't think the situation would have been any
different if I had come out there - it just was
not possible for me to get there. In fact, I have
had to cancel the engagements I made for the
fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth in Kansas City
and Liberty.
I hope namma is feeling all right and that you arrive
home safely. Write me when you get an opportunity.
Magin has gone to West Point
and it is quit around the
House. Sheta a lot of Kids went
