After Arriving in France.
Harry Truman of Grandview, who
left Camp Doniphan ahead of his regt
ment and went to France on Special
duity, has been promoted and is now
Captain Adjutant with Major Gates
of the 129th Field Artillery. (Capte/n

view. When it was desired to organ-
lze new batteries in Kansas City, to
camplete an artillery regiment for
Kansas City and Independence he
went into the work and was instru-
mental in organizing a battery. He
was relected Lieutenant. He "was in
charge of important executive duties
at Camp Doniphan and was sent to
France with the detail of 17 men from
each battery. He has since been
gaged. in special duty as instructor
and whon the rejoined his regiment
bund he had been a Captain
that and did not know it.
