Message.
Have just received orders that shoot will take place
8:00 PM on 39th. Make arrangements to have animals sufficient
to pull Truman and Marks. Send up as soon as dark enough.
Truman's animals to go to his position. Marks' animals to go to
hie position via the Hus. Paterson and Kennedy will look after the
ammunition supply up here. It will be necessary to have all four (4)
charrot de Paro available for the transportation of this ammunition,
as it must be handled in boxes. (The French Officers state that it
is alright to transport special shells in caissions if they are not
allowed to remain any length of time. This for your information
in case of any difficulty in regard to chariot de parc. You will be
on the lookout and facilitate the ammunition supply at Echelon)
Both in the case of Truman and Marks send only gun teams to position,
send caissons and chariots to Busat. Remember about forage
and
rations. In regard to A battery start Dancy' S guns and cempty
caissons to Busat.
A Btty. will bring up with them 150 No. 4 special gas shell
and 350 No. 5 special Gas Shell. 25 rounds H.E. Normal. 525 Schneider
fuses.
D. Battery will bring the same amount as A. Battery
8. Battery will bring the same amount as A.Battery.
Have E Battery Wagons bring the same am unt as .Battery.
Use any means of conveyance necessary and be sure to have ammunition
at Busat before daylight.
Sgt. Shroeder of the supply Co. will issue the ammunition.
