TRAINING MEMORANDUM:
To Brigade and Separate Unit Commanders.
1. A copy of G-5 Training Memorandum No. 26, Headquarters
2nd Army, is furnished you for compliance as far as it may be
practicable in your Brigade.
2. in reference to paragraph 1. of the memo randum referred
to, you are reminded that the next bri gade terrain exercise would,
according to the or esent schedules, be conducted during the week
commencing March 2nd. The Division may have started to move
south by that time, but it is possible that it will still be in
this area. In case the Brigade moves no attempt will of course
be made to carry out the schedule, but in case the Brigade is
still in this area the schedule of training as outlined in
General orders No. 236, G.H.Q. will be carried out as nearly as
the equipment still remaining in your brigade permits.
Should it be possible to bold these tactical walks each
-
brigade commander will conduct the same in the week commencing
March 2nd. Preparations should therefore be made at once for
- the conduct of these tactical walks. If infantry brigade comm-
anders want artillery fficers to be present during these tacti-
cal walks, they will indicate to these Headquarters what officers
they desire in time for necessary arrangements to be made.
Bri zade commanders will submit to theseeHeadquarters, office
of G-3, by Saturday, March lst, a brief synopsis of their plans
for the conduct of the se tactical walks.
3. Under paragraoh 2 schedules for the we ek commencing
February 23rd may be altered so as to give two consecutive hours
three days of the week to athletics. During this time games may
be practiced by teams and competitions held with the idea of
arriving at regimental champions for each of the gameso
Attention is directed to Par. 2, G. 0. 27, G.E.Q., which
directs that after March lst all purely military work will be
finished by noon, the afternoon to be devoted chiefly to athlet-
i os and educational activities.
4. In regarã to paragraph 3, in all company, battalion,
regimental or brigade problems that may be conducted the next
higher P. c. wi 11 be established, and messages intended therefor
will actually be sent.
