WASHINGTON
December 13, 1948
Dear Ethel:
I am enclosing you a letter which I have just
received from a fellow in England. I don't
think I had any grandparents or great-grand
parents born in England.
George Radcliffe has uncovered a whole raft
of Trumans in Maryland who came over from
England with Lord Baltimore and later moved
to Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. The
first thing we know we will get the facts and
get to the bottom of where we actually came
from.
I thought maybe you would like to answer this
person.
As you know, Bess' grandmother was born in
England but I don't know where. Mrs. Gates
was from England.
Sincerely yours,
U.S. RECORDS SERVICE DEPARTMENT
