THE PRESIDENT
Discussed advisability of taking up China situation with Foreign
Affairs and Foreign Relations committees in regard to stopping further
shipments to China Nationalist Govt.
BARKLEY
Recommended limiting such a meeting to Chairman and ranking
minority members of each committee. Agreed to 11:00 AM Saturday.
ACHESON
It is a real danger if materials get into unfriendly hands.
CLARK
Said there has been a decided shift in thinking on tide lands
issue. The Govt position is being more widely accepted.
KRUG
Shale in Colorado is providing new source of oil and there is
increasing interest in its development by private interests. It will
provide a new source of fuel for diesels and jets.
