Briefed Cabinet on Korean War.
THE PRESIDENT
Has talked to Big 4 Congressional leaders about early recall of
session. They agree that it would add no material change in prospect
of additional legislation. Tax bill - interim appropriations for Korea -
statehood bills - rent control are items that must be acted upon.
Losses of 5 Senators and 28 members in House were due in large
measure to local situations. There is no indication of a trend.
SNYDER
Cong Doughton is to work to get out a profits tax bill but is not
certain at this time of success in House.
