Conferees finished tax bill yesterday. Will be taken up in House
Tuesday. It is 5 million short of administration request.
ACHESON
Senate Foreign Relations Committee finished hearings yesterday
on Foreign Aid Bill. It is in good shape.
Iran is still in a mess. Mosadegh the Prime Minister is now in
New York to appear before Security Council of the U. N.
Egypt is now at odds with Britain and have threatened to abrogate
its treaties with Britain.
Iraq has also threatened to do likewise.
SNYDER
Treasury is in comparatively good shape. Sees no market problems
between now and January.
LOVETT
We are having serious strike trouble in vital defense plants. This
will adversely affect our production figures.
