STATEMENT
Rabid Republicans, joined by disgruntled
Democrats, have written their wrath into the Constitution
with the 22nd Amendment. The parchment which patriots
signed with quills has been remodeled by high-powered
politicians with ball point pens
The 22nd Amendment is a shackle on self
government. The American citizen has lost the right to
vote for any man, any time, for any term as his president.
The presidency should have be en left as it was
planned in the Constitution, a document which placed no
ban on utilizing ability and exploiting experience.
Although legislators in three-fourths of the
states approved the amendment, the people of all but 13
states voted against limiting a president to two terms
the only times they ever expressed themselves on the
principle in 1940 and 1944.
The 22nd "Sour Grapes" Amendment was ratified
to taunt Truman, ropudiate Roosevelt and discredit the
Democratic Party. For such poor, partisan and inglorious
purposes our Constitution has be on amended by a diversity
of demagogues to protect u.s from an imaginary menace.
