VICTOR S. GETTNER
285 MADISON AVENUE
NEW YORK
November 12, 1945
The Honorable Harry S. Truman
The White House
Washington, D. C.
Dear Mr. President:
Together with most American citizens, I was greatly
gratified by the portion of your message to Congress
delivered on September 6th, 1945 in which you expressed
your concern for a health program for the American people.
In that message you stated that you would send later a
special message relating to medical care and health in-
surance. May I hope that you will send Congress such a
message at the earliest possible moment, urging the
adoption of a nation wide compulsory health insurance
plan such as that combined in the Wagner-Murray-Dingell
Bill?
Respectfully,
