My dear Mr. Stansfield:
This acknowledges the receipt of
your letter. In reply, I am sorry to say that
it is not possible for the President to com-
ply with the many, many requests being re-
ceived for statements on various subjects. I
am, however, sending you a copy of his Message
to the Congress relative to the matter you men-
tion and hope that it may be of some use to you
in your debate.
