Re: Socialized medical and
legal services.
Dear Sir:
H
President Truman's socialized medicine program
is certainly worthy of support. I believe the idea could
be improved upon by the introduction of an omnibus bill
combining medical and legal services. Many people end up
in the doctors' waiting room because they can't afford a
visit to the lawyer. I could use about half a dozen of
those Philadelphia lawyers right now but they wont work
for 5% and you can't palm off a deep-freeze unit on them
in payment, que I'd have to hitch-hike to Philadelphia any-
way
I feel certain that the many members of the leg-

al profession in the Congress would welcome the opportunity
for selfless service which would thus be opened to their

entire profession, - the chance to serve the public who can
not afford the present price of justice.
Perhaps the cost of medical sevice in Great Brit- -
ain could be reduced and their Dollar shortage overcome
by a similar system of socialized legal services. If we are
to return to medieval ecclesiastical e anon law, we may as
well go all the way. You of course have heard about the
goose.
Very truly yours,
L.
