Dear President Truman:
WHEREAS, the quality of medical care available in our
country, developed under the system of free enterprise, is the finest
in the world; and,
WHEREAS, the Compulsory Health Insurance Lithere we have
studied its effect, has shown a deterioration of medical standards,
and facilities, to the detriment of the family welfare; and,
WHEREAS, the right of the family to privacy and the
sanctity of the patient-doctor relationship is violated; and,
WHEREAS, Compülsory Health Insurance would bring about
a 3% tax on the family income, with an additional rise to 6/for higher
within a few years, creating a greater tax burden; and,
WHEREAS, Government control of medical services, by
gradually undermining free enterprise and establishing heavy new tax
burdens and unprededented National deficits, yould threaten National
bankruptcy and encourage the spread of socialism, which would endanger
the rights of our children to the individual freedoms which have been
the American heritage, NOW, THEREFORE,

Sigma Omicron does hereby go on record against any form of Compulsory
Health Insurance or any system of political medicine designed for
National bureaucratic control;
