WHEREAS, the United States has the highest standards of health, of medical care, and of scientific medical facilities of any country in the world, as a. result of our system of free enterprise; and WHEREAS, compulsory health insurance, wherever tried, has caused a decline in national health and deterioration of medical standards and facilities; a nd WHEREAS, wherever the government has assumed control of medical services, the result has been trmendous multiplication of costs over origina 1 estimates, extreme tax burdens and national deficits, and gradual extension of socialization into other activities of national life, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Northern Panhandle District Number One West Virginia State Nurses! Association (membership 520) does hereby go on record against any form of compulsory health insurance or any system of political medicine designed for national bureaucratic control; That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States of America, to each Senator and Representative from the state of West Virginia, and that said Senators and Representatives be and are hereby respectfully requested to use every effort at their ARCH, A command to prevent the enactment of such legislation. = the the Lavinia H.
