"To fill a major gap in our social security system, I again strongly
urge
a comprebensive system of prepaid medical care insurance."
1950 Message to Congress
President Truman
4-18-51
Dear Editor :
O C I O R S
W A N T E D !
Here is an advance copy of a pamphlet jointly
sponsored by the AFL and the CIO with other national
organizations.
Its subject -- Emergency Federal Aid to train
more doctors, dentists, nurses -- has 01-partisan support.
But the AMA lobby is campaigning vigorously against its
passage. The Senate is likely to vote on this measure
in the next few weeks. So your action now is important.
Will you please help mobilize broad support for
this bill which will mean more doctors available for
union members and their families.
Reproduce or quote this pamphlet as you wish in
news stories, editorials, features, etc.
For your own immediate use, we shall gladly send
you up to ten copies free.
Your union can purchase copies at $34 per thousand.
Your imprint can be added without charge.
Sincerely yours,
Frederick E. Robin
