Honorable Harry S. Truman
White House
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
I would ask you if all the brains of the nation have been
1
centered in Washington to plan each man's life, from the time
a child is to be born, his daily life through the years, and
the time when his number is to be called.
Government has planned that industry must hold, so called
elections of employees, to decide what Union they will affili-
ate with. So this is the American Way?
P
OPA, through brain truster Bowles and Socialistic wits,
10/20
trying to overthrow the law of supply and demand, and tell you
E
and us what we can do -taking their cue from Germany, Japan,
and Russia, Is this the American Way?
Fact Finding, just another snooper group, which when start-
ed once, WILI not only enter enterprise, but the home, to see
if the babies diapers are being cleaned with the approved
Government commodities, made by Union labor (not too far fetched)
other bureaus stooping to even smaller tactics; and is our
President, still thinking up things to make more bureaus? IS
this the American Way?
We can feed the world; give away our planes, ships, money,
commodities-- - - all things; tax the life out of home industry, as
well as individuals at home; put Government in business as
competitors to industry that pays the taxes. Is this the way
America grew?
Why not let laborers (we are all wage earners) make his
own place in the industrial world, union or non-union, every man
should be entitled to a job, if he can hold one, without paying
a union fee, in any industry, or the Government holding elections--
quite expensive.
