Dear Mr. Cobb:
The President has given me your letter
of August third, and in looking over Mr. Gott's
letter which you enclosed, I find that the posi-
tion in which he is interested is not one that
I can do anything about helping him to obtain.
It is a matter of patronage that has been re-
300-A
served to the Congressmen and Senators and these
jobs are filled on the recommendation of the
Congressman of the district. Such being the
case, I would suggest that Mr. Gott get in touch
with Honorable George H. Christopher.
With best vishes,
Very sincerely yours,
