The White House
Dear Mr. President:
In further reference to my request for all consideration
possible for sufficient funds, in the next fiscal year
budget, for a good Indian Affairs program, I want you to
know that I am deeply grateful to you for your good
letter in regard thereto, and the interest you expressed.
When Congress reconvenes in January, if your valuable time
will permit, I shall be most happy to confer with you, or
anyone you may designate, to further consider this
important matter. There are other members of Congress,
both in the Senate and the House, that I'm certain will
be glad to join us. I shall be happy to arrange a meeting,
at your convenience, or to have any suggestions you may
care to make. My one and only purpose is to assist, in
any way that I can, toward a good, sound and proper pro-
gram for our Indian people.
