MEMORANDUM FOR MR. CONNELLY:
Mr. Trygve Lie, Secretary General of the Permanent
xw.e
Organization of the United Nations, is expected in Washing-
ton on March 14. Mr. Lie, who has been Norwegian Foreign X123
Minister, will be enroute to New York to assume his new
duties as head of UNO. He is coming to Washington to pay
his respects to the # Secretary of State and, he hopes, to
the President.
Could you let me know whether it will be convenient
for President Truman to receive Mr. Lie and, if so, upon
what date.
