of America in the Economic and Social
Council of the United Nations.

There is transmitted herewith the nomination of
Francis Biddle, of Pennsylvania, as the Representative
of the United States of America in the Economic and
Social Council of the United Nations.
This nomination is in accordance with Section 2 (d)
of Public Law 264, and for your convenience in considering
it there is enclosed a biographical sketch of Mr. Biddle.
Letters to the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign
Relations of the Senate and to the appropriate Senators
have been prepared and will be forwarded upon submission
of the nomination to the Senate.
