GEN. VAUGHAN
10 October 1949
Dear Carl:
Inquiry has been made concerning your friend, William
#
D. Shain and his desire to be appointed to the appellate court
in the Guam Government.
We have learned that legislation must be passed before
this appointment can be filled, but he might like to know that
he is being considered for it when the proper time arrives.
I am sorry I missed you the other day when you were in
but was laid up for a couple of days with the flu. However, I
am feeling much better now.
Several days ago I received a communication from Dan
Imboden which carried a footnote in which he asked me to tell
you that he wished he were back here to tell some of those so-
and-sos what he thought of them.
Thanks again for your great help during the recent
investigation.
Sincerely,
HARRY H. VAUGHAN
