Dear Mr. Mayer,
I am concerned over the dismissal of the
Hollywood writers because of the proceedings of the
Thomas Committee against them.
I believe that you have not only done these
men a grave injustice but that you have deprived the
film industry of some of its most talented men. I urge
you to return these men to their jobs.
Freedom of expression is a fundamental
freedom which must not be threatened or subvorted if
this country is to maintain its democratic traditions
and achievements.
