I hope that you will follow your
own impulses and veto the McCarran-Walte bill when
it comes before you for action.
The people, particularly in New
York, are very much aroused about this vicious anti-
democratic bill; and are placing their trust in you
as usual. I know you will not fail them.
I believe you will agree that the
only course you can consistently follow is to veto
this bill and thus continue your record of opposition
to measures which would restrict the liberties and
opportunities of the American people.
