Memo for Mr. Connelly:

Mr. David S. Wilson of United Air Lines
(traffic Rep.) called me this morning and said he
had a large telegram for the President. I made
arrangements for delivery of the same at 3 PM.
This telegram is a sheet of wall board sixe 6' X 10'
and contains the following message;
WESTERN UNION
May 26, 1950
Honorable Harry S. Truman
President of The United States
Washington, D. C.
SIR: HAWAIIAN STATEHOOD NOW
Graham W Dible "The Orchid King"
Flowers of Hawaii, Inc.
The message was outlined in orchids and they
were distributed around the office with the permission
of The President.
