My dear Miss Leary:
The President has read your letter of
May third with the greatest pleasure. It is ex-
ceptionally gratifying to him that you found the
television tour of the White House both interest-
ing and educational. He wishes me to thank you
#
for your kindness in expressing your appreciation.
It was thoughtful of you to mention in
your letter that you and your parents formerly
lived in Independence, and you may be sure that
the President is always glad to hear from friends
from his home state of Missouri. Please accept his
thanks for your neighborly letter.
Very sincerely yours,
WARRY MICHIVES TRUMAN NATIONAL AND THE
RECORDS
SEIVICE
WILLIAM D. HASSETT
Secretary to the President
Miss Alice Learry, X
601 Chestnut Street,
