Dear Dr. Cunninghan:
I understand that Davidson Gollege
alumni are giving a dinner this evening in
honor of one of their most illustrious menbers,
Dean Rusk. I should like to add my personal
trioute to others he will receive, for Dean
Rusk is the best of American. lie has

consistently served his country with devotion
and great ability. lãs counsel and service
were particularly outstanding during the dif-
ficult years he served as Assistant Secretary

strong and good man to have in that spot when
the commints launched their terrible aggres-

sion in Korea.

Nr. Rusic is now to continue to serve
his country as President of the Rockefeller
Foundation.
