Please extend warm personal greetings to all those who are attending the
fourth
annual commenoration of the Dorie Miller Memorial Foundation at the Pilgrim
Baptist Church. I am delighted to learn that Dorie Miller's heroism is
remembered annually in this way. All too often the deeds of our Nation's heroes
are commemorated once in a blaze of glory and are then forgotten. What
Miller did is too important to be forgotten. It is with real appreciation for
the significance of Dorie Miller's deeds that I add my voice to the voices of
those who are commemorating him.
