SCHMIDT June 6-7-8, 1952 This reunion at Springfield, Missouri, June 6-7-8, 1952, will be our Captain's last appearance before the 35th. Division and Battery "D" as President of the United States. Program set up by the 35th, Division Springfield Reunion Corporation in a letter May 5 from Maj. Gen, Ralph E. Truman, Ret. I quote as follows: "While in Washington last week I cleared with the Chief and his Staff all of these questions asked, particularly about the Breakfast which I will discuss in the next paragraph, This Breakfast will be held in the lower lobby of the Shrine Masque at 7:30 A.Ms, Friday; June 7. Tickets are $3.00 each. The Chief decided that inasmuch as the 35th. Division Association and Reunion Corporation were having this Breakfast in his honor, a section should be set aside for Battery "D" on nis right with an appropriate sign indicating their presence, He further requested that Battery "F", which he commanded prior to going to Battery "D", be invited and as many of this Organization as possible be seated and a sign indicating this organization, His statement was "This is my last appearance before the 35th. Division Association and my former Battery as President of the United States' and we feel we should all cooperate to make this & gathering that will be long remembered. Question II - The request to march in the parade as you have in the past is entirely satisfactory, but we feel that other organ- izations of the regiment should not be excluded,' Reservations in Springfield are limited. Please return the en- closed card indicating your intentions. AT ONCE. For transportation contact Frisco, or Missouri Pacific Railroads, Crown Coach Lines or a Battery "D" member for automobile.
