My dear Corporal Barlow:
The President has received your let-
ter of recent date and has asked me to thank
you for your kindness in writing to him about
those interesting old papers which you have in
your possession. I want to explain, however,
that the President is so extremely busy these
#
days we are very much afraid that he will not
have an opportunity to look at them. I am,
therefore, returning the papers to you herewith.
It is suggested that you may wish to communicate
with the Library of Congress.
I have pleasure in advising you that
General MacArthur's address is: Commander in
Chief, Far East Command, A.P.O. 500, c/o Post-
master, San Francisco, California.
