French map titled "Montblainville." The map, numbered 210 in a series, shows a portion of the Argonne Forest and the Aire River. Overprinting shows the location of lodging huts for troops and battery positions. Several annotations on the front show the positions of the 137th, 138th, 139th, and 140th Inf. (35th Division) from September 28 to October 1, 1918. The positions of the 28th and 91st Divisions are also noted. A notation on the back reads: "Montblainville, C. O. 140 Inf. Original map used in Argonne by R.E. Truman R.I.O 140 Inf." Donated by Ralph E. Truman.

Several red pencil annotations show the movement of the 137th, 138th, 139th, and 140th Infantry (35th Division) from September 28 to September 30, 1918. A pencil note on the front reads: "Original map used by R.I.O 140 Inf 35 Div in Argonne Sept 25-18 to Oct 1-18." The top of the map is stamped "Secret." A note on the back reads: "This map used in Battle of Argonne by R.I.O 140 Inf Sept 25-18 to Oct 1-18." Donated by Ralph E. Truman.

French map titled "Very." The map, numbered 211 in a series, shows the location of the 140th Infantry from September 26 to September 27, 1918 and the 138th Infantry on September 26, 1918. Overprinting shows the location of lodging huts for troops, trench lines, and battery positions. Pencil notes on the back read: "C.O. 140th Inf." and "Very-1/10,000."

Annotations, in black ink, indicate 35th Division movement and positions in the areas near Montfaucon (Aubreville to Exermont), Verdun (Sommedieue), Bar-le-Duc (Bussy and Vavincourt), St. Mihiel, Commercy (St. Aubin, Chonville, Lerouville, Vertuzey), and Toul.
