The following is for release at 1:00 P.M. EDT today, Thursday, July
seventeenth.

Secretary to the President
The Prosident today announced appointment of a ten-man
Board of Foreign Scholarships to select American students for
study abroad under the Fulbright act.
The Board, which will have general supervision of the
educational exchange program authorized by the act, is made up
of leaders chosen from the fields of cultural, educational student
and wor voteran activities.
The appointees are:
General Omar N. Bradley, Administrator of
Voterans Affairs.
John W. Studobaker, Commissioner, U. S. Office
of Edvontion.
Frencis Spaulding, Commissionor of Education,
Stato of Now York,
Holen C. Whito, Profossor of English,
Univorsity of Wisconsin.
Lauronco Duggan, Diroctor, Instituto of Inter-
notional Eduontion.
Ernest o. Lawrendo, Profossor of Physics,
Univorsity of Coliforniae
Sarah Blanding, Presidont, Vassar Colloge.
Walter Johnson, Profossor of History,
Univorsity of Chicago.
Charles S. Johnson, Prosident, F isk University.
Martin P. McGuire, Dean of the Graduate School,
Cntholic University of America.
