BARRY ARCHIVES AND RECORDS TRUMAN THE
My dear Mrs. Harris:
ES.
GOVERNMENT
Mrs. Truman is sorry that her
calendar for May is a very crowded one,
and she has engagements for both May
ninth and tenth which prevent her from
accepting the invitation you have ex-
tended to her to attend the Virginia
State Chapter, P.E.O. Sisterhood con-
vention in Alexandria.
She hopes you will express
her regrets to the members of the
Chapter that she can not have the
pleasure of being with them those days,
and she sends her best wishes for a
successful meeting.
Very sincerely yours,
Mrs. J. M. Helm
Secretary to Mrs. Truman
Mrs. T. A. Harris
135 Hanover Avenue
Hampton, Virginia
